Picket Twenty is one of Andover's newest corners, a big estate of family homes on the eastern edge of town, built mostly over the last fifteen years. Young families, commuters on the A303, houses that still feel box-fresh. We're about five minutes away in SP10, and the work here looks nothing like the older villages: first-fix plumbing snags, boilers losing pressure, and wipes doing what wipes always do in narrow plastic drain runs.

It's a quick run over from our side of town whatever the hour, in from the A303 on the east side. New estates get built fast and the plumbing sometimes shows it, pushfit joints never quite pushed home, radiators nobody balanced, drain runs laid with barely any fall.
